Demon houses guide
House is the lineage of angelic service your Fallen soul remembers in Demon: The Fallen. Seven houses map to seven choirs of the host: each grants signature Lores, cultural baggage, and a relationship with Torment. This guide explains every house so you can choose before binding to a mortal host.
Seven houses, seven sins of memory; Lores and Torment for Demon chronicles.
Lore and chronicle tone
Fallen memory and mortal hosts
Demons are not cartoon devils. They are refugees of Heaven's war, trapped in human flesh, drinking Faith to remember who they were. House shapes which Lores feel native, which oaths you once swore, and how quickly Torment stains your legend. Chronicle tone blends urban horror, theology, and conspiracy; house tells your Storyteller which cults gather and which angels still hunt you.
Factions beyond house
Faustians, Luciferans, Raveners, Cryptics, and Reconcilers cut across houses. Your house is ancestry; your faction is politics. A Reconciler Slayer and a Ravener Slayer share Lores but not goals. Document both on the sheet so the table knows whether you seek apocalypse, redemption, or leverage.
Rules and creation flow
Lores, Faith, and Torment
Each house favors three Lores: magical domains such as Flame, Longing, or Death. Starting Torment varies by house history. Faith fuels miracles; Torment tracks how far you slide toward the monstrous. The wizard lists house Lores, Faith, and Torment on the dossier PDF for table reference.
Thralls, pacts, and the host
Demons build cults, thralls, and brittle alliances. Backgrounds such as Followers, Pacts, and Eminence translate influence into sheet mechanics. Re-export after major Faith spends or Torment shifts so chronicle records stay honest.
At a glance
The seven houses
Houses of the Fallen with their remembered duties and Lores.
Namaru (Devils)
Messengers and leaders among the host. Lores of Flame, Celestials, and Radiance. Oaths, inspiration, and terrible clarity; with heavier starting Torment from commands they failed. Play orators, warlords, and judges of broken faith.
Asharu (Scourges)
Tenders of the living world's cycles. Lores of Firmament, Winds, and Awakening. Feel every fever and false spring; begin slightly cooler on Torment than some houses but never soft. Play healers twisted by plague memory or storm-callers.
Annunaki (Malefactors)
Shapers of matter and craft. Lores of Earth, Forge, and Paths. Treat cities and flesh as clay: slow violence made beautiful. Artisans, architects, and saboteurs of foundations belong here.
Neberu (Fiends)
Readers of fate and hidden design. Lores of Light, Patterns, and Portals. Patient bargainers with probability itself. Play prophets, gamblers, and strategists who see the next move too soon.
Lammasu (Defilers)
Masters of desire and storm. Lores of Longing, Storms, and Transfiguration. Know every hunger you will not name; many chronicles mark lighter starting Torment; not mercy. Tempters, revolutionaries, and artists of dangerous change.
Rabisu (Devourers)
Beasts and hunger incarnate. Lores of Beast, Flesh, and Wilds. Remember teeth in the dark; start closer to Torment's edge because they never stop feeding. Predators, gluttons, and wilderness horrors fit the house.
Halaku (Slayers)
Keepers of endings and the veil. Lores of Death, Realms, and Spirit. Cut what must not continue: solemn, final work paid in hot Torment. Assassins of fate, psychopomps, and angels of necessary endings.

Storyteller and player tips
Storyteller guidance
Define how Faith refreshes and how public miracles draw hunters. House Lores suggest set-piece powers: negotiate which Lores are common in your city. Export PDFs with Torment visible when scenes push redemption versus damnation.
Player guidance
Choose house for Lore fantasy and Torment tolerance, not only combat. Write how your Fallen remembers Heaven. Pair house with a faction opinion your cell can argue about.
