Overview
This policy describes how information is processed when you use this website and optional sign-in features (the "Service"). The Service is an independent fan-made World of Darkness character creation tool. It is not produced by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Paradox Interactive AB.
Information we collect
When you browse the site, our hosting infrastructure may process standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps in server logs. If you create an account, our authentication provider (Supabase) stores account details you supply or that your identity provider shares, typically an email address and a stable user identifier. If you use optional cloud character saves, we store structured character data you generate in the application (for example JSON payloads keyed by save type) linked to your account. Character drafts may also remain in your browser’s local storage on your device until you clear them. If you allow analytics in the cookie banner, Google Analytics may collect usage statistics; our integration requests IP anonymization where supported.
How we use information
We use this information to run the Service, keep you signed in, sync cloud saves you choose to upload, protect against abuse, understand aggregate usage when you have accepted analytics, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
Processors and sign-in partners
Supabase provides authentication and database hosting for signed-in users and cloud saves. When you choose “Continue with Google” or another sign-in method we offer, the relevant provider processes sign-in according to its own policies and may share limited profile data with us as needed to complete authentication. We encourage you to review that provider’s privacy notice (for example Google’s).
Cookies, local storage, and choices
We use cookies and similar storage for essential functions (for example session continuity and your language preference) and, only with your consent, for analytics. You can change analytics preference anytime via the cookie controls shown on the site. You can clear site data from your browser settings to remove local drafts. Signing out ends the active session on this device.
Retention, security, and deletion
We keep account and cloud save data while your account exists and as needed to provide the Service. Industry-standard safeguards are applied, but no online service is perfectly secure. Deleting your account with the authentication provider removes associated cloud rows where our database is configured to cascade deletes; local-only data remains until you erase it from your device.
Your rights and regional notices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data, or to object to certain processing. You can exercise many choices directly (account settings with your identity provider, browser storage controls, cookie banner). For other requests, contact the person or organization operating this deployment of the site.
Children, international transfers, and changes
The Service is not directed at children under the age where parental consent is required for online services in their jurisdiction. Your information may be processed in countries where our processors or you are located. We may update this policy from time to time; the updated date will be revised here. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy where permitted by law.
