The long night before V5

V20 chronicles often lean political, gothic, and sect-driven; Camarilla courts, Sabbat packs, and independent autarkis carving feeding grounds from a city that never forgives weakness. Humanity and Path ratings track moral erosion differently than V5 Hunger and Convictions. Your Storyteller may emphasize boons, prestation, and elder schemes over predator types.

Clans, bloodlines, and Paths

Clan still defines curse and in-clan Disciplines, but V20 tables frequently allow bloodlines and Paths of Enlightenment with Storyteller approval. Paths replace Humanity for some characters: document philosophy on the sheet so the table knows what keeps the Beast at bay. Sire, generation, and sect remain the social spine of the chronicle.

Player tips

Pick clan for curse and chronicle fit, not only Discipline combat potential. Write one Touchstone equivalent: a mortal tie the Beast threatens. Re-export after edits so your Storyteller always has the latest sheet.
