Wraith guilds guide
Guild is the craft and curse your Restless soul practices in Wraith: The Oblivion 20th Anniversary Edition. Sixteen guilds each mastered an Arcanos: the art of dead will; before the guild war shattered Stygia. This guide lists every guild so you can choose how your wraith haunts the Skinlands and survives the Shadow.
Sixteen guilds and their Arcanoi: a Session Zero reference for Oblivion chronicles.
Lore and chronicle tone
Stygia, guild memory, and the Shadow
Wraiths are passion and regret given shape. Guild culture survives as reputation, smuggled training, and forbidden texts. Your Shadow: the enemy within: learns as you do. Chronicle tone blends grief, bureaucracy, and horror. Guild tells your Storyteller which Arcanoi teachers appear and which legionnaires still hate your badge.
Fetters, Passions, and the Skinlands
Every wraith is moored by Fetters and fueled by Passions. Guild skill changes how you protect or exploit those ties. A Pardoner without Fetters is still a wraith; but hollow. Document what you love and what you haunt on the sheet; guild explains how you fight Oblivion.
Rules and creation flow
Arcanoi and guild training
Each guild teaches an Arcanos: Argos, Castigate, Embody, and others. Starting ratings and allowed arts depend on chronicle and creation rules. The wizard records guild, Arcanoi, Passions, Fetters, and Shadow on the dossier PDF. Re-export when you learn new arts or lose a Fetter.
Pathos, Corpus, and the Shroud
Pathos fuels miracles; Corpus is your dead body; the Shroud separates you from the Quick. Guild arts change how you cross that veil: Artificers ride machines, Proctors wear flesh, Haunters bend lights. Note starting ties to Necropoli or legions in backgrounds.
